Eckhard Rikowski

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Eckhard Rikowski is a Professor for Chemistry and Nanotechnology at the Department of Computer Science and Natural Sciences, Fachhochschule Südwestfalen. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Universität-GH Paderborn (1997) and has held academic and research positions at institutions including GKSS Forschungszentrum GmbH, Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und –prüfung (BAM), and TU Darmstadt.

• Research focuses on inorganic-organic hybrid materials, silsesquioxane chemistry, and nanomaterials for fuel cell membranes.
• Key areas: Silsesquioxane synthesis, cage rearrangement, DMFC membranes, historical glass analysis, and quality management.

His work spans synthesis, characterization, and application of nanostructured materials. Publications include studies on click chemistry in nanomaterials and inorganic-organic hybrids for proton-conductive membranes. He has participated in numerous conferences and held leadership roles in nanomaterials research initiatives.

Prof. Rikowski’s lab collaborations include TU Darmstadt’s Centre of Research Excellence in Nanomaterials and European nanomaterials forums. He co-authored a patent on DMFC membranes and contributed to TV segments on nanotechnology.
