Ebtesam Ahmed, Pharm.D., is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Health Professions at St. John's University's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She serves as Director of the Pharmacy Internship at the MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care. Her expertise spans pain management, palliative care, hospice, and end-of-life care, with a focus on oncology and HIV/AIDS-related pain.
Dr. Ahmed earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from St. John's University, followed by a post-graduate pharmacy residency at the University of California, San Francisco. She also holds a Master’s in Bioethics from Columbia University. She teaches courses such as Advanced Therapeutic Management and Drugs & Diseases of the Nervous System.
Her research emphasizes opioid use in cancer pain, adjuvant analgesics, and legislative initiatives around abuse-deterrent opioids. She frequently lectures at medical centers and conferences, addressing healthcare providers on pain management strategies and palliative care innovations.
