Dr. Ebrahim Rezaei Geshnizgani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and affiliated with the Biorefining Research Institute at Lakehead University. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, chemical reaction engineering, and sustainable process modeling and optimization.
Academic Qualifications:
- BScEng in Chemical Engineering (Petrochemical Major) from Sahand University of Technology
- MScEng in Process Design and Optimization from Sahand University of Technology
- PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan
Dr. Rezaei's work addresses environmental challenges through catalysis and process optimization. Key areas include catalytic reforming of greenhouse gases, removal of inorganic gases (NH3, H2S), catalytic conversion of biomass, and reactor modeling for CO2-free hydrogen production. He also investigates adsorption-based odor removal and techno-economic assessments of sustainable chemical processes.
In 2025, Dr. Rezaei received support from the Ontario Research Fund - Research Infrastructure Program, enabling advanced research infrastructure at Lakehead University.
He contributes to the Biorefining Research Institute, advancing eco-friendly chemical engineering and biorefining technologies.
