Dr. Simon Ebersolt is a Temporary Teaching and Research Assistant at INALCO, affiliated with the Department of Japanese Studies under the School of Asian Studies. His work bridges French and Japanese philosophical traditions, focusing on modern intellectual history, phenomenology, and political philosophy. He co-leads the Japanese Philosophy Study Group (IFRAE UMR 8043) and is qualified by the French University Council (CNU) in Sections 15 (East Asian Languages) and 17 (Philosophy).

- History of philosophy in modern Japan (19th-20th centuries)
- Kuki Shuzo's philosophy, including concepts like iki (seductive aesthetics) and contingency
- Phenomenology-metaphysics intersections
- Political philosophy and community formation
- Cross-cultural dialogues between French and Japanese thought
Scientific Contributions: His research explores Bergson's influence on Japanese thinkers, Taisho-Showa era ideological shifts, and Kyoto School dynamics. He has published extensively on temporal philosophy, identity, and intercultural epistemology.
