He explores themes of justice, inequality, class, identity, and violence through a critical lens informed by cultural and philosophical theory.
The recent publications highlight a sustained engagement with issues of capital, class, and social dynamics in Irish theatre. His 2023 book Irish Theatre: Interrogating Intersecting Inequalities synthesizes years of research on economic and cultural disparities in performance, while earlier works examine the theatrical representation of justice, sectarianism, and identity. His articles span journals such as Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies, Irish University Review, and Irish Studies Review, reflecting interdisciplinary reach and international scholarly impact.
Prof. Jordan has supervised 11 PhD students to completion and currently mentors four more, including through co-tutelage with the Sorbonne. His leadership in curriculum design and module coordination—such as Theatre of Martin McDonagh and Contemporary Ireland On Stage—demonstrates innovation in teaching. He has also served as Commissioning Editor at Carysfort Press and held roles in the Irish Society for Theatre Research.
