EMMA PERRIS is a Lecturer in Therapeutic Skills within the Allied Health, Social Work & Wellbeing division. She holds a MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London (2015) and a PGCert in Teaching in Higher Education from Edge Hill University (2023). Currently serves as a Research Assistant since March 2022 and co-Principal Investigator on key research projects.
Her research focuses on mental health interventions, particularly using arts-based strategies and realist evaluation methodologies. She explores scaling-up community initiatives like 'Arts for the Blues' and staff wellbeing in healthcare settings through creative psychological interventions. Active in the Research Centre for Arts and Wellbeing and the International Centre for Applied Research with children and families.
Key projects include scaling mental health initiatives and a feasibility study on healthcare staff wellbeing. Recognized with a Fellowship from AdvanceHE in 2023.
