Duke U. Ophori

Dr. Duke U. Ophori is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Studies at Montclair State University, USA. He holds a BSc from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria), an MSc from the University of Waterloo (Canada), and a PhD from the University of Alberta (Canada). His expertise lies in geo-environmental science, specializing in groundwater flow modeling and contaminant transport. He has conducted research in diverse regions, including Long Island (USA), northeastern New Jersey, the Canadian Shield (Canada), the Volta Basin (Ghana), and the Niger Delta (Nigeria).

Dr. Ophori has served as a hydrogeological consultant for institutions like the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Alberta Environment, and the Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL). From 2007 to 2010, he chaired Montclair State’s Department of Earth and Environmental Studies. His research focuses on applying hydrogeological principles to environmental challenges, including nuclear waste disposal and petroleum exploration in sensitive ecosystems.
