Du Hejun is an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He holds a BEng and MEng from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (1983, 1986) and a PhD from Imperial College London (1991). His professional journey includes roles as Research Fellow, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and eventually Associate Professor at NTU since 1999. He has led over 10 research grants totaling S$4 million from ASTAR, ARC, and AcRF, and has published over 140 journal papers with an H-index of 16.
His research focuses on compliant mechanisms, topology optimization, MEMS, and system dynamics, with applications in smart sensors, actuators, and advanced manufacturing. Notable achievements include developing microfluidic oscillators, piezoelectric energy harvesters, and bio-inspired solar steam generators.
