Drew Bonner

Drew Bonner is a graduating MA student in Sociology at George Mason University and serves as a Graduate Professional Assistant within University Life’s Office of Assessment and Planning. His research focuses on food environments, food insecurity, food justice, and nutrition education, with a commitment to equitable and ethical methodologies in social science research.

Bonner’s work includes collaborations on projects like the Produce Plus Direct Evaluation program, analyzing food access during the pandemic, and evaluating the Community Food Educators program to inform nutrition education strategies. He contributed to a SNAP-ED Conference Presentation and co-developed a research framework to address hegemonic biases in Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR).

He plans to continue his academic career as a Sociology PhD student starting in Fall 2021, with a focus on advancing food and nutrition education initiatives for social change.
