Douglas Shadle is Associate Professor of Musicology at the Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University, where he contributes to the Department of Musicology and Ethnomusicology. His research engages deeply with American orchestral culture, music criticism, and the racial and political dimensions of symphonic music.
