Douglas Owens serves as an Adjunct Lecturer of German and Western Humanities in the Department of Global Languages and Cultures at State University of New York at Geneseo.
Education Background:
- M.A. in European Culture and Economy from Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany
- B.A. in History and German from Mansfield University
Research and Teaching Interests:
Mr. Owens specializes in Western Humanities with particular focus on the moral, social, and political evolution of Western Civilization from 1600 to the present. His expertise spans German language and literature, European cultural studies, and the historical development of Western institutions. His teaching emphasizes both factual knowledge and conceptual understanding of how cultural narratives shape contemporary society.

Office located in Welles 212-B with Spring 2025 office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:00pm. As an adjunct faculty member, he contributes specialized expertise in German and Western Humanities to the university's curriculum while maintaining flexibility in his academic appointment.
