Douglas C. Osborne is a Professor at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), affiliated with the College of Forestry, Agriculture & Natural Resources. He holds a B.S. (2003), M.S. (2005) from Western Illinois University, and a Ph.D. (2010) from Southern Illinois University.
His teaching focuses on Wetland Ecology and Management, Decision Making in Natural Resource Management, and Science Writing. His research addresses critical issues in wildlife ecology, including:
- Overwintering waterfowl migration patterns and habitat use (collaborating with Ducks Unlimited, US Fish & Wildlife Service, and others)

His recent publications (2020–2023) explore topics such as mallard migration strategies, king rail reproduction, and the impacts of climate change on waterfowl management. Osborne collaborates extensively with government agencies and NGOs, emphasizing applied conservation science and stakeholder engagement.
