Douglas C. Osborne

Douglas C. Osborne is a Professor at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), affiliated with the College of Forestry, Agriculture & Natural Resources. He holds a B.S. (2003), M.S. (2005) from Western Illinois University, and a Ph.D. (2010) from Southern Illinois University.

His teaching focuses on Wetland Ecology and Management, Decision Making in Natural Resource Management, and Science Writing. His research addresses critical issues in wildlife ecology, including:

• Overwintering waterfowl migration patterns and habitat use (collaborating with Ducks Unlimited, US Fish & Wildlife Service, and others)
• Bottomland hardwood ecosystem dynamics and their influence on mallard populations

Osborne collaborates extensively with government agencies and NGOs, emphasizing applied conservation science and stakeholder engagement.
