Professor Douglas Bernheim is a faculty member at the Department of Economics, Stanford University. He holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Bernheim is a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).

Notable scientific awards include election as a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Econometric Society, as well as prestigious Guggenheim and Sloan Foundation Fellowships. Bernheim also contributes to society through his consulting role at Bates White, where he provides expert testimony in litigation, mergers, and regulatory cases.
