Prof. Dorothée de Nève holds the Chair for Germany’s Political and Social System/Comparing Political Systems at Justus Liebig University Giessen since 2015. Her academic career includes professorships at the University of Vienna, Halle-Wittenberg, and Marburg, alongside roles as a Research Fellow in Tokyo and Basel. She leads interdisciplinary initiatives such as the Anti-Democratic Attitudes Research Network and served as Director of the Media and Interactivity Center (ZMI).
Her research focuses on electoral systems, political participation, gender studies, and the intersection of politics and religion. She has published extensively on LGBTQ+ voter behavior, coalition politics, and democratic renewal. Current topics include post-pandemic coalition governance and digital transformations in political engagement.
