Dorothy C. Browne, DrPH, is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. With over 30 years of experience, she has held academic leadership roles including tenured positions at UNC-Chapel Hill and serving as the inaugural Dean of Jackson State University's HBCU-accredited School of Public Health. She co-founded the Minority Health Research Project and currently leads/co-leads COVID-19 impact studies collaborating with Duke University and the NC Institute of Public Health.

Her research focuses on health disparities among minority communities, adolescent risk behaviors, and community-based interventions. Current projects include evaluating Wake County's Community Innovation Fund addressing pandemic-related health inequities.
She has held academic appointments at Morgan State/Johns Hopkins University and North Carolina A&T State University, demonstrating a career dedicated to advancing public health equity through research and education.
