Dorota Kulczycka

Dorota Kulczycka is a Professor at the University of Zielona Góra, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and the Department of Literary Studies. She serves as editor-in-chief of the publishing series Scripta Humana and has contributed extensively to literary scholarship through research and teaching.

Research Interests: Her work emphasizes the semantics of literary space and the Orient in Romantic-era literature, particularly Polish and French Romanticism. She integrates literary theory with anthropological, ethical, and religious analyses of literature and culture, including film studies. Recent projects focus on literary criticism and the poetics of space.

Teaching Activities: She lectures on cultural literary studies, interpretation theory and methodology, and contemporary literary criticism. She also supervises BA, MA, and PhD seminars and workshops on creative literary reportage.

Academic Achievements: She has published over 130 works, including four monographs on Juliusz Słowacki's symbolism, Stanisław Barańczak's poetry, and Romantic-era representations of the Holy Land and Middle East. She co-edited Returning Home: Studies in Anthropology and the Poetics of Space and multiple volumes of the Scripta Humana series.

Education: Completed her habilitation at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, passing the colloquium in December 2013.
