Doris Treptow-Kovacs

Doris Treptow-Kovacs is a Professor of Fashion at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where she has served since 2005. She holds an M.F.A. in Fashion from SCAD and a B.S. in Business Administration from Fundação Educacional de Brusque. Her research focuses on fashion design methodologies, trend forecasting, and the evolving role of designers in the apparel industry.

Her professional experience includes roles as a fashion designer, consultant, and coordinator in Brazil, with notable engagements at Tifa Confecções and Buettner S.A. She has also served part-time at institutions like FURB University and SENAC prior to her full-time position at SCAD.

Dr. Treptow-Kovacs is a prolific author and presenter, having published Inventando Moda and delivered workshops on trend forecasting across Brazil. She contributed to scientific publications such as FURB University's magazine and produced trend-forecasting video reports under her self-owned firm, Dossie da Moda (1991–1997).

Her academic contributions include presentations on fashion portfolios and seasonal trends at events like the Ciclo de Palestras em Moda and the Congresso Paranaense de Artes. She also served on the Scientific Committee for the Congresso Internacional Negocios de Moda in 2016.
