Doris Leibetseder

Doris Leibetseder is a Post-Doc Assistant at the Center for Gender Studies, University of Basel, and an Elisabeth-List-Senior Fellow at the University of Graz. She previously held fellowships at the Technical University Graz, University of Vienna, and University of Cambridge, and lectured at multiple Austrian universities.

Her research focuses on queer and trans reproduction, assisted reproductive technologies (ART), families and kinship, reproductive justice, bioethics, and queer cultural studies. Her work bridges gender theory, bioethics, and technoscience, with a particular emphasis on the politics of intelligible life and digital evaluation infrastructures.

Notable awards include the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship (2017-2019) and the Elisabeth-List-Senior Fellow program. She has developed interdisciplinary frameworks connecting reproductive justice to Swiss media analysis and academic policy.

Advising and conference leadership include co-organizing the 8th SAGS Conference in Basel and contributing to gender studies programs in Austria and the UK. Her work intersects with European gender research networks and transnational reproductive sociology.
