Dr Dorian Gangloff is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge's Cavendish Laboratory, leading the Quantum Engineering Group. He holds a Royal Society University Research Fellowship and a UKRI New Investigator Award. His research focuses on solid-state spins and photons, developing hybrid systems for quantum computing, communication, and simulation. He previously held positions at the University of Oxford (Associate Professor) and Cambridge's St John's College (Junior Research Fellowship). He completed his PhD at MIT's Center for Ultracold Atoms in 2016.
His research interests span quantum interface engineering, quantum dots, spin qubits, and photonics. Key projects include the QuantERA consortium MEEDGARD on entanglement distribution with gallium arsenide quantum dots. His work emphasizes theoretical and experimental studies of few- and many-body quantum systems.
Recent publications highlight advancements in quantum dot design, spin-photon interfaces, and error-correcting codes. Awards include fellowships recognizing his contributions to quantum technologies. He leads collaborative efforts in quantum networks and materials, advancing interdisciplinary research across condensed matter physics and quantum engineering.
