معرفی
Doreen Werner is a Graduate biologist and researcher at the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in Müncheberg, Germany, affiliated with Program Area 2 "Land Use and Governance" and the Working Group on Biodiversity of aquatic and semi-aquatic landscape elements.
Education
- Doctor rerum naturalium (Dr. rer. nat.) in Natural Sciences
Research Focus
Her work centers on medical entomology and vector ecology, utilizing classical morphological and molecular biological methods to investigate nematoceran Diptera taxonomy, systematics, and phenology. Field studies examine endemic and invasive Diptera species' seasonal/geographical distribution, predator-prey dynamics, and breeding habitat dependencies. She conducts epidemiological analyses of human/veterinary pathogens (viruses, protozoa, filariae) transmitted by blood-sucking insects via PCR and DNA sequencing, while developing Germany's national mosquito surveillance database with GIS-based distribution mapping.
Research Infrastructure
Dr. Werner contributes to the Biodiversity of aquatic and semi-aquatic landscape elements working group, which studies ecological functions of landscape elements within agricultural systems and their implications for species distribution and pathogen transmission.
