Dora Hrabovszky

Dora Hrabovszky serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Japanese Studies at Károli Gáspár Reformed University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Born in Hungary in 1992, she brings specialized expertise in Japanese language instruction and linguistic research to her academic position.

Her educational background includes dual Master's degrees: a 2021 MA in Teacher of Japanese Language and Culture from Eötvös Loránd University, and a 2017 MA in Japanology from Károli Gáspár Reformed University. Her international experience includes a Research Scholarship at the International Research Center for Japanese Studies (2017-2019) and a MEXT scholarship at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (2014-2015).

Her research focuses on functional cognitive linguistics, with practical application in Japanese language pedagogy. She teaches core curriculum courses including Japanese Grammar I-II, Text Reading I-IV, Translation Exercises I-IV, and General Translation Techniques I-II, demonstrating comprehensive coverage of Japanese language instruction from foundational to advanced levels.

Ms. Hrabovszky maintains exceptional language proficiency with JLPT N1 in Japanese, ECL C1 in English, and ÖSD C1 in German. She is an active member of MJOT (presumably the Japanese Language Teachers' Association or similar organization), contributing to the academic community in her specialized field.

Currently pursuing doctoral studies in Linguistics (started 2024) at her home institution, she represents the newer generation of scholars building academic careers while contributing to language education and linguistic research in Central Europe.
