Donna Boone Parsons serves as the Associate Provost for Adult and Graduate Studies and Dean of the Division of Professional Studies and Social Sciences at Mars Hill University, where she is also an Associate Professor of Business. A native of Asheville, North Carolina, she holds a PhD in Business Administration (Management) from Saint Mary’s University, an MBA in Marketing from the University of Tennessee, and a BA in Business Administration from North Carolina State University.
Her research focuses on gender and organizations, particularly examining women in family firms and the intersection of organizational gendering with consulting practices for family-owned businesses. She has taught courses in management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and family business since 1994.
Dr. Parsons brings extensive industry experience, including work in nonprofit organizations, multinational corporations, and tech startups, to her teaching and consulting. She actively contributes to community leadership through roles in local nonprofits, schools, and religious institutions.
