Donna Bacchus

Dr. Donna Bacchus is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), affiliated with the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. She holds a PhD in Nursing from UTA (2013), an MSN from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (1993), and a BSN from the University of Ottawa (1980). With over 40 years of experience in clinical nursing, education, and healthcare leadership, her research focuses on IBD patient care, medication adherence, and transitions to adulthood in chronic illness. She actively teaches in UTA’s graduate nursing programs and contributes to online education strategies.

Dr. Bacchus has received awards including the Graduate Dean’s Fellowship (2013) and multiple teaching honors. Her service roles include committee leadership in nursing accreditation, student grievances, and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCF) initiatives. She has presented nationally on IBD care, transitions of care, and biosimilar medications. Her work bridges clinical practice with academic innovation in chronic disease management.
