Doni Gewirtzman serves as a Visiting Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School and holds a full Professorship at New York Law School (NYLS), where he concurrently serves as Co-Dean for Faculty Scholarship and Co-Director of the Initiative for Excellence in Law Teaching (IELT).
His academic appointments include:

Specializing in Constitutional Law, his research examines First Amendment jurisprudence, legislative processes, regulatory frameworks, and democratic theory. His scholarship investigates constitutional interpretation methodologies and law's role in sustaining democratic institutions through historical and contemporary lenses.
He has earned NYLS’s annual teaching award three times for pedagogical excellence.
Prior to academia, he practiced litigation at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison and advanced civil rights as a Skadden Fellow at Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund.
