
Dongyang Li

Dongyang Li is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), and a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Alberta. His research focuses on wear and corrosion of materials, material design, surface engineering, and computational materials science.
Dr. Li holds a B.Sc. in Solid Mechanics from University of Science and Technology China, an M.Sc. in Condensed Matter Physics from Sun Yat-sen University, and dual PhDs in Materials Physics (University of Science and Technology Beijing) and Metallurgical Engineering (McGill University).
He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (FCAE) and European Academy of Sciences and Arts (MEASA), as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FMMM, UK) and a Member of the Institute of Physics (FInstP, UK). He serves on the editorial boards of 18 international journals and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
