Dongni Zhang is a Research Fellow at the Unit of Public Health, Linköping University. She holds a PhD in Mathematical Statistics (2019-2024, Stockholm University), an MSc in Mathematics (2017-2019, Lund University), and a BSc in Financial Mathematics (2014-2017, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich). Her research focuses on mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, particularly contact tracing strategies and epidemic spread dynamics. She is affiliated with the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Her work integrates epidemiological theory with computational methods, addressing challenges in public health interventions such as testing, isolation, and tracing mechanisms. Key contributions include analyzing SEIR network models, digital/manual tracing efficiency, and delay effects in epidemic control.
Her articles emphasize methodological advancements in epidemic modeling, with recent publications exploring mixing groups in contact tracing and behavioral responses to testing/isolation policies. She actively contributes to the Research Academy for Young Scientists program (2024), fostering early-career researcher development.
