Dong Nguyen is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University's Faculty of Science, Department of Information and Computing Sciences. She leads the NLP and Society Lab and is affiliated with the Utrecht Young Academy. Her research focuses on natural language processing, computational sociolinguistics, and data diversity in NLP.

Recent publications analyze geographical language variation, urban dictionary semantics, and model evaluation methods. She heads the DataDivers ERC-funded project (2025-2029) investigating data diversity in NLP.
