His research focuses on econometric theory, including inference under partial identification, weak instruments, bootstrap methods, and time series analysis.
Education: PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley (1982), MA in Statistics (1980), and BA in Economics from the University of British Columbia (1977).
Research interests span econometric theory, mathematical statistics, and applied econometrics, with a focus on robust methods and asymptotic theory. He has received numerous awards, including fellowships from the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His work has advanced methodologies for handling weak identification, moment inequalities, and structural change in econometric models.
