Don DeVoe is a Wilson H. Elkins Professor and Associate Chair of Research & Administration in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. He holds affiliate appointments in Bioengineering and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and is a core faculty member at the Robert E. Fischell Institute for Biomedical Devices.

Dr. DeVoe's research focuses on MEMS and microfluidic systems for biomedical applications, including nucleic acid diagnostics, exosome isolation, liposomal nanomedicine development, and viral aerobiology. His work bridges microscale engineering with clinical translation and scalable manufacturing solutions.
His publications highlight innovations in 3D printed microfluidic devices, thermoplastic disposable diagnostics, and high-throughput nanomedicine synthesis. Key projects include microhydrocyclones for exosome separation, synthetic eukaryotic cell construction, and trap array chips for antibiotic resistance screening.
