Dr. Dominik Schieder is a sociologist and anthropologist at the University of Siegen's Department of Social Sciences (Faculty of Arts). His research focuses on sociality, migration, ethnicity, sport, and political processes in the Pacific (Fiji), Europe, and East Asia. He leads the DFG Research Unit 5183 on transborder mobility and institutional dynamics. Key themes include Fiji Islander diasporic communities, rugby migration, and colonial/postcolonial dynamics.
