Dominik Oliver

Dominik Oliver is Professor at the Institute of Physiology and Pathophysiology within the Department of Medicine at Philipps University of Marburg. His research centers on molecular mechanisms of ion transport with emphasis on auditory physiology and cochlear function.

Current research focuses include:

• Functional specialization of SLC26 anion transporters
• SLC26A5 microdomain structure in outer hair cells
• Prestin-mediated cochlear enhancement mechanisms
• Regulation of TASK/TREK potassium channels

Professor Oliver maintains active DFG funding through multiple project types including Research Units, Priority Programs, and in-kind grants. His leadership of FOR 5046 demonstrates significant collaborative research capacity in epithelial transport physiology. Current projects indicate strong institutional support for ongoing investigations into hearing loss mechanisms and transporter biology.
