Dominic Willmott, Ph.D., is a chartered psychologist and Visiting Professor at SWPS University’s Faculty of Psychology in Wrocław, Department of Social Psychology. He also holds a position as a Reader (Associate Professor) in Legal and Criminological Psychology at Loughborough University (UK), a top 10-ranked UK university and national leader in criminology.
His research focuses on bias within legal decision-making, particularly juror behavior in sexual assault trials, and examines how rape myths and broader social cognition influence gender-based violence. He has secured nearly £5 million (26 million PLN) in research grants and published over 70 scientific articles.
He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Criminal Psychology, Associate Editor of Frontiers in Psychology, and on editorial boards of Journal of Criminal Justice, The Police Journal, and Frontiers in Quantitative Psychology and Measurement. He is Chair of the Board of Trustees for Justice is Now, a UK charity supporting victims of sexual violence, and was a scientific advisor to Vera Baird, the Commissioner for Victims of Crime for England and Wales (2020–2022).
