Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheriesمعرفی
Doerthe Tetzlaff is a Professor in Ecohydrology at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB), Berlin, with research focused on stable isotopes, landscape ecohydrology, and climate-water-ecosystem linkages in Scotland and Germany. She leads the Department 1: Ecohydrology & Biogeochemistry.
Her research explores water storage dynamics, drought resilience, and ecohydrological interactions across diverse systems including peatlands, urban streams, and permafrost catchments. She integrates stable isotopes, hydrochemical tracers, and eDNA to quantify water ages, flow pathways, and biogeochemical transformations.
Recent publications highlight her work on:
- Multi-tracer urban water management frameworks
- Isotope-aided modeling of nitrogen cycling in connected landscapes
She actively engages in AGU ecohydrology sessions, critical zone science, and policy discussions about land use impacts on water security. Her team has reported equipment thefts during fieldwork in the Oder floodplain and Scotland’s Wester Ross region.
