Dodie Bellamy is a Senior Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Writing Program at California College of the Arts (CCA) and teaches in Undergraduate Writing & Literature and Graduate Fine Arts. She holds a BA and MS from Indiana University. Her work bridges genres, exploring sexuality, queer theory, and narrative experimentation. Bellamy’s research interests include feminist critique, art criticism, and the intersections of literature with activism. She has been a pivotal figure in the San Francisco literary avant-garde since the 1980s, co-founding the zine Mirage/Period[ical] and directing Small Press Traffic. Her accolades include the SF Bay Guardian Goldie Award and the Firecracker Alternative Book Award.
Her academic roles also include adjunct teaching at San Francisco State University. Bellamy’s collaborations with artists and curatorial projects, such as her curation of Kathy Acker’s clothing exhibit, highlight her interdisciplinary approach.
