Dmitry Aleynik

Dmitry Aleynik is a Researcher at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), affiliated with the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) and the SAMS UHI Energy Innovation Team. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Processes and Climate from 1998. His research focuses on physical oceanography, particularly turbulence and mixing induced by tidal interactions with topography. He develops high-resolution numerical models (MITgcm, FVCOM, WRF) and operates the West Scotland Coastal Ocean Modelling System (WeStCOMS) for regional weather and ocean forecasts.
