Diāna Zandberga

Diāna Zandberga is an Associate Professor in the Piano Department at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (JVLMA), where she also serves as Vice-Rector for Research and Creative Work and Head of the Doctoral School. She holds a PhD from JVLMA (2014) with a thesis on piano texture in Latvian music, complemented by advanced studies with renowned pianists Lazar Berman (Italy, 2000-2004) and Alicia de Larrocha (Spain, 2004-2008).

Her research focuses on piano performance, musicology of Latvian compositions, and artistic pedagogy, with special emphasis on historical piano texture evolution. She actively contributes to academic discourse through conferences and directs the Joint Professional Doctoral Programme in Arts.

As a concert pianist, Zandberga has premiered works globally and recorded seven albums, including dedicated collections of Latvian composers. She holds leadership roles as a researcher at JVLMA's Scientific Research Centre and a board member of the Latvian Piano Teachers Association.
