Dr. Diyu Zhang is a Guest Researcher at the Leiden Institute of Chemistry (LIC) within the Faculty of Science at Leiden University. His research focuses on fundamental studies of energy sustainability, catalysis, and surface chemistry, particularly examining the chemical reactivity of O₂, CO, and CO₂ on copper surfaces. His work contributes to advancing understanding of reaction mechanisms at material interfaces with applications in sustainable energy systems.
Dr. Zhang’s affiliation includes roles in the LIC’s Fundamental Research in Energy & Sustainability division, where he collaborates on catalytic processes and surface reactivity investigations. His academic contributions are highlighted through his doctoral thesis titled Chemical reactivity of O₂, CO and CO₂ on Cu surfaces, which explores these interactions at a molecular level.
