Dr. Dirk Sudholt is a Full Professor at the University of Passau and a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield. He holds a Ph.D. from Technische Universität Dortmund and has held postdoctoral positions at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) in Berkeley and the University of Birmingham. His research focuses on randomized algorithms, algorithmic analysis, and combinatorial optimization, with expertise in the theoretical analysis of bio-inspired search heuristics like evolutionary algorithms and ant colony optimization. His work emphasizes rigorous runtime analysis to understand algorithmic performance and design principles.
