Prof. Dirk Müller serves as Director of the Energy System Technology department (ICE-1) within the Institute of Climate and Energy Systems at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany's national research center for energy, information, and bioeconomy research. His leadership focuses on interdisciplinary energy transition solutions integrating climate science and technological innovation.
His research spans critical energy transition domains:
- Grid integration of renewable energy sources
- Climate-resilient energy infrastructure
- Sector coupling for decarbonization
- Energy system modeling under climate uncertainty
- Sustainable hydrogen economy implementation
