Dr. Dirk Andrae is a Senior Lecturer (Privatdozent) in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin. He is affiliated with the Institut für Chemie und Biochemie and leads the AG Andrae research group. His work focuses on quantum chemistry, statistical thermodynamics, and theoretical chemistry, with recent contributions to electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion.
He teaches core courses such as Mathematik I für Chemie, Quantum Chemistry, and Statistical Thermodynamics. Research interests include open-shell systems, relativistic quantum chemistry, and sustainable chemistry applications. His group maintains a database of computational chemistry input files for GAMESS.
