Dionysios Douroumis is Professor in Pharmaceutical Technology and Process Engineering and Director of the Centre for Research Innovation (CRI) at the University of Greenwich. He holds a BSc in Chemistry and PhD from Patras University, Greece, with postdoctoral experience at Friedrich–Schiller University of Jena and industry roles at Biolitec Pharma GmbH and Phoqus Pharmaceutical.
His research focuses on continuous manufacturing using hot melt extrusion (HME), targeted anticancer drug delivery systems (SLNs/NLCs), and inkjet/3D printing technologies for medical devices. His work integrates PAT tools for process optimization.
He has published over 80 articles, 7 book chapters, and edited 2 books. Patents include transdermal microneedle coatings and drug-eluting stents.
