Diogo Silva

Diogo Silva is a PhD student and invited lecturer at ISPA - Instituto Universitário, affiliated with the Cognition Team and supervised by Teresa Garcia-Marques at WJCR.

He completed his master's degree in Social Psychology at ISPA in 2019, investigating emotional infrahumanization in depression. His research examines stereotypes, in-group perception, facial impression formation, and dehumanization processes related to mental illness stigma, with particular focus on depression and schizophrenia.

His publications reveal a cohesive research program analyzing how emotional and cultural factors influence infrahumanization of depressive individuals, while also exploring cognitive biases like anchoring effects in depression.
