Assoc. Prof. Dins Šmits is the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), holding an academic appointment as Associate Professor. He serves as a Lead Researcher at the Institute of Public Health and is affiliated with the Department of Applied Pharmacy. His research focuses on medical law, healthcare policy, and public health, emphasizing ethical and legal frameworks in healthcare practice. Šmits has organized significant events like the fifth Medical Law Conference, addressing topics such as patient rights, legal protection for healthcare professionals, and crisis management in medical contexts.
