Dinko Fabris is an Italian musicologist currently holding the position of Professor at the State Conservatory of Music, Naples (since 2013) and Lecturer of History of Music at the University of Basilicata, Potenza (since 2001). He also serves as an external tutor at the University of Ljubljana and the DocArtes doctoral programme (Den Haag/Leiden), and as Principal Fellow (Honorary Associated Professor) at the University of Melbourne.
Research Interests:
- Lute music and tablature notation
- Music patronage in Early Modern Italy
- Baroque opera, particularly works by Francesco Cavalli and Andrea Gabrieli
- Urban musicology and music iconography (Caravaggio)
- Music collections and historical studies in Naples (1500-1800)
- Social impact initiatives in music education (e.g., 'El Sistema' adaptation)
