Dr Ding Ma is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biostatistics at the UQ Centre for Clinical Research, affiliated with the University of Queensland’s Clinical Trials Capability (ULTRA) team. His expertise spans semiparametric survival models, survival analysis, and computational statistics, with a focus on clinical trial design.
- Bachelor of Meteorology, Sun Yat-sen University
- Graduate Diploma in Statistics, University of New South Wales
- Masters (Coursework/Research) of Applied Statistics/Statistics, Macquarie University
- Doctor of Philosophy (Statistics), Macquarie University
Ding specializes in semiparametric survival models, including accelerated failure time models and Cox proportional hazards models, with applications in clinical trials. His work involves joint modeling of longitudinal and time-to-event data and advancing statistical methodologies for real-world research challenges.
Ding's 2023 publication in Statistics in Medicine explores penalized likelihood estimation in semiparametric accelerated failure time models with time-varying covariates, reflecting his focus on innovative statistical frameworks for clinical research.
He is currently funded by the SAFTEP (Semiparametric Accelerated Failure Time Evaluation Project) Seed Funding for Methodology Research Scheme (2024-2025) and offers supervision in biostatistics.
