Dr. Ding Chen is a Senior Lecturer in Corporate and Commercial Law at the School of Law, University of Sheffield. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, an LLM from the University of Sheffield, and additional LLM and LLB degrees from Renmin University and Zhengzhou University respectively. His work bridges legal and economic frameworks, focusing on institutional changes and their impact on financial systems in China.

Grants from the ESRC support his projects on informal finance in China and institutional changes in legal systems. He is a member of the Sheffield Institute of Corporate and Commercial Law, with external examiner roles at SOAS and Aberdeen Law School. Teaching emphasizes critical thinking and independent analysis in corporate law and governance courses.
