Dimitris Chiotis is a Lecturer in Mathematics at the School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Queen Mary University of London. He holds a PhD from Newcastle University (2020) for his thesis on superoptimal analytic approximation and exterior products. Previously, he was a Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at Newcastle University and a Research Fellow at the Euler International Mathematical Institute in St. Petersburg. His academic qualifications include MSc and BSc in Mathematics from the University of the Aegean, Greece.
Research interests focus on superoptimal analytic approximation, exterior products of vector-valued maps, spectral matrix factorisations, Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces (RKHS), and operator theory. He has collaborated with institutions like St. Petersburg University and Kagool Ltd, where he worked in data engineering using Azure technologies. His work bridges pure mathematics with applications in cloud computing and data science.
Publications emphasize operator theory innovations and algorithmic approaches to approximation problems, with recent work on Jupyter notebook analysis in education. Awards include a Newcastle University PhD scholarship and Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy. He has secured grants from the London Mathematical Society and Heilbronn Institute to support conference organization. Chiotis teaches Linear Programming and Games in Queen Mary's Hainan program, offering supervision for BSc/MSc projects in his research areas.
