Dimitrios Terzis

Dimitrios Terzis is a Lecturer and Research & Teaching Associate at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), within the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) and the Soil Mechanics Laboratory (LMS). He is also a principal lecturer for the course "Innovation for construction and the environment". His work bridges advanced geotechnical engineering with bio-mediated soil improvement technologies.

Research Interests:

Dimitrios Terzis focuses on bio-cementation and microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) for soil improvement. His research integrates microscopy, X-ray tomography, and predictive modeling to understand and scale bio-mediated processes for geotechnical applications. He also explores innovation in construction and technology transfer.
