Dimitri Chamblas serves as Dean of The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), a position appointed in 2017. A renowned contemporary choreographer, his work examines bodily representation across diverse contexts through innovative dance forms and transmission methods. His performances have been presented globally at institutions including Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, and Opéra national de Paris.
Chamblas' research integrates choreography with technological innovation and social engagement. Key projects include the first 360-degree immersive dance film developed with Google Cultural Institute (2015), prison-based work 'A Yard' at Lancaster State Prison (2020), and a global dance initiative with UNHCR for refugee camps. His practice bridges visual arts, fashion, and music through collaborations with Chanel, Nike, William Forsythe, and visual artists like Christian Boltanski.
His honors include:

Chamblas founded Studio Dimitri Chamblas (2017) to produce cross-disciplinary projects including 'HHUMANN' (75-dancer street performance) and 'Slow Show' (50 performers). Through Same Productions (1999), he creates content for luxury brands while pioneering dance in unconventional spaces from maximum-security prisons to international refugee communities.
