Dima Alsajdeya

Dima Alsajdeya serves as a Max Weber Fellow (Research Fellow) at the European University Institute (EUI), affiliated with the Department of Political and Social Sciences and the Max Weber Programme for Postdoctoral Studies. Her current research focuses on publishing a book derived from her award-winning PhD dissertation examining Egyptian foreign policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian question during the Mubarak era (1981-2011).

She earned her PhD in Political Science from Paris-Panthéon Assas University in France, following which she pursued postdoctoral research at the Institut français du Proche-Orient (Ifpo) in Beirut under the Arab Council for the Social Sciences Early Career Fellows Program.

Alsajdeya's scholarly work centers on international relations within the Middle East and North Africa, with specialized expertise in foreign policy analysis, diplomatic history, and refugee dynamics. Her current projects investigate the continuity of Egypt's foreign policy regarding Palestinian issues in the post-revolutionary context and the reconfiguration of Palestinian power structures in Lebanon's Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp, extending beyond the institutional framework of the Palestinian Authority.

Her scientific recognition includes:

• Distinction Prize from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University

Alsajdeya maintains active research affiliations as a fellow at the Chair of Contemporary History of the Arab World (Collège de France) and Centre Thucydide (University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas), while contributing to academic discourse through her editorial role for Confluences Méditerranée. Her research is supported by fellowships including the Arab Council for the Social Sciences grant and her current Max Weber Fellowship at EUI.
